THERAPY

Introduction

About Therapy

I value having a positive and open relationship with my clients and know that you are the expert on yourself. The first step to working together will be to talk on the phone. I offer a free 15 min phone consultation to all potential clients to learn more about you, your issue, and to see if we’d be a good fit.

Request Your FREE 15 Minute Consultation

I can generally schedule that within 12-24 hours of your request. If we find that it’s a good match, I can usually schedule our first therapy session within 1-2 weeks or match you with another counselor on my team. At this time, I’m offering telehealth and in person sessions. Those sessions take place in Montrose (Tuesdays) and Sugarland (Wednesdays).

During your first session, I’ll get more details about you, what brings you to therapy, and learn more about your history.  We’ll also set some goals for counseling together and come up with a timeline for services. We’ll talk about your expectations for counseling and I’ll answer any questions you have.

If you want to learn more about EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy for trauma, depression, anxiety and other distressing life experiences, please visit the EMDRIA website here.

I charge $150 for 55-minutes, which is how long a typical session lasts.  I take Aetna and United, Optum and Oscar insurance plans. I do offer a temporary sliding scale if these fees do not fit within your budget; please ask if that’s the case.  I do my insurance billing through a third-party billing platform called Headway. This frees me up to spend my time on you, my wonderful clients.

I also hold EMDR half or full day intensives for clients who would like to focus on their trauma or distressing memories during more concentrated sessions that will typically clear the distress more quickly than focusing on it once a week over a period of months.  We can do this virtually or in person; it’s equally beneficial in both settings. If it’s a course of treatment you would like to pursue, we can discuss which is most appropriate given your symptoms and current level of functioning. EMDR intensives are paid for like regular therapy: you pay per hour and insurance should cover it or if you are using insurance to pay for sessions.
