Introduction
About Therapy
Our therapists value having a positive and open relationship with our clients and know that you are the expert on yourself. The first step to working together will be to talk on the phone. We offer a free 15 min phone consultation to all potential clients to learn more about you, your issue, and to see if someone on our team would be a good fit for you.
We can generally schedule your free 15 minute consultation within 12-24 hours of your request. If we find that it’s a good match, we can schedule our first therapy session within 1-2 weeks. At this time, we’re offering telehealth and in person sessions. Please see the main page to view our schedule and to see where and when we offer in person sessions.
Before your first session, we’ll have you fill out an intake questionnaire to learn more about you and what’s bringing you to therapy. During your first session, we’ll get more details about you and your history. We’ll also set some goals for counseling together and come up with a timeline for services. We’ll talk about your expectations for counseling and answer any questions you have.
Mor is a certified EMDR practitioner. If you want to learn more about EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy for trauma, depression, anxiety and other distressing life experiences, please visit the EMDRIA website here.
Mor can provide EMDR during a traditional therapy session and she also offers EMDR half or full day intensives for clients who would like to focus on their trauma or distressing memories during more concentrated sessions that will typically clear the distress more quickly than focusing on it once a week over a period of months. This can be done virtually or in person; it’s equally beneficial in both settings. If it’s a course of treatment you would like to pursue, we can discuss which is most appropriate given your symptoms and current level of functioning. EMDR intensives are paid for like regular therapy: you pay per hour and insurance should cover it or if you are using insurance to pay for sessions.
We charge between $70-$150, depending on the therapist’s experience level and specialty, for a 55 minute session. We accept Aetna, Cigna, and United, Optum and Oscar insurance plans. We can offer a temporary sliding scale if these fees do not fit within your budget; please ask if that’s the case.
